Services

What is PEP?
PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis): PEP is a medication that can prevent HIV. It works best when given as soon as possible after an exposure to HIV, ideally within 72 hours, but the sooner the better. CrescentCare handles this as an emergency with an immediate same-day appointment.
Please call for an appointment or to discuss PEP between 8:30am – 6pm: 504-418-5640
After hours or on weekends: 504-457-2711
CrescentCare has a team of HIV prevention and treatment specialists who can initiate medications to prevent HIV acquisition during your visit, and will monitor you during your treatment course.
