To best accommodate the needs of our current transgender and gender non-conforming patients during the pandemic, we are temporarily unable to accommodate new patients who are seeking to begin hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for the first time. We understand how vitally important access to gender affirming care is for transgender and gender non-conforming people and look forward to welcoming new Gender Clinic patients in the spring of 2021. We appreciate your patience as we prepare to expand and improve our gender-affirming healthcare services. For those seeking access to hormone therapy sooner than this, please see our resources page for other providers that may be able to help.
For new patients who are seeking to continue medical management of current hormone therapies, please contact 504-821-2601 to schedule an appointment with one of our gender-affirming providers. For general questions about gender services atCrescentCare, contact Gender Clinic Lead Patient Navigator, Dietz (any pronoun used with respect), at 504-339-9752.
CrescentCare strives to treat all patients with respect and compassion, regardless of gender identity or expression. We utilize an informed consent model for hormone therapy. We do not require patients to obtain a letter of support from a therapist or counselor to begin hormone therapy. While most patients begin hormone therapy right away, our medical providers may request further assessment based on your individual health history. We recognize that everyone’s goals of transition are unique. We deliver care using a team approach, where all members of our gender care team are there to support you in meeting your individual needs.
We value your feedback regarding the quality of care you receive at CrescentCare. Let us know how we’re doing by calling our Gender Clinic feedback hotline at 504-207-2273, ext. 6887.
