Jason Halperin, MD, HIV/ID Innovation Medical Leader

Dr. Jason Halperin received his Master of Public Health from Columbia University in New York and completed his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2010. He moved to New Orleans for his internal medicine residency at Tulane University and fell in love with our incredible city. He left for a short-time to do his Infectious Diseases fellowship at New York University before returning to join CrescentCare. He is the HIV/ID Clinician Lead at CrescentCare – the largest provider of HIV services in New Orleans — and oversees the programming for HIV and HCV treatment and prevention, as well as its clinical research department. Dr. Halperin spearheaded CrescentCare’s nationally recognized Rapid Start program for people who are newly diagnosed with HIV. In March 2020, he oversaw and implemented CrescentCare’s COVID-19 response, including the development of its testing services and then vaccination clinic. He is also an assistant professor of medicine at Tulane University.
