Bria Lain

Bria is a New Orleans native who relocated to Atlanta, GA after Hurricane Katrina. After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, she decided to return and give back to the community she loves so much. She returned to the city of New Orleans to receive her Master’s of Public Health and Tropical Medicine from Tulane University. While pursuing her MPH&TM and working in the Emergency Department as a Medical Documentation Specialist during the COVID-19 pandemic, she became passionate about reducing health disparities in the New Orleans community. She knew that she wanted to make a difference in her community. Her journey with helping to decrease the burden of health disparities in the community started out at the Louisiana Department of Health’s STD/HIV Program. There she was able to create Hepatitis B and C content on prevention, testing and treatment on the Louisiana Health Hub. She was also able to further educate the state of Louisiana and health care stakeholders on the syndemic amongst Hepatitis C, HIV and Opioid drug use, and the tools needed to help marginalized populations achieve optimal health. Bria is excited to continue her journey at Crescentcare and to further promote healthy lifestyles and safe practices through data collection, analysis and reporting on HIV/Hepatitis C and sexually transmitted disease care and treatment. Outside of the office she enjoys fitness and shouting “WHO DAT!” every week while watching the Saints!
