PrEP and PEP for HIV Prevention
PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is a once-a-day pill taken by people who are HIV-negative to keep from getting HIV. When used on a daily basis, PrEP is over 90% effective at preventing HIV infection. You can use PrEP alongside condoms and other prevention methods to provide the maximum level of protection for you and your partners with little to no side effects. PrEP is covered by most insurance plans, and offered to patients at CrescentCare clinics, where specially trained staff are available to answer your questions and help you set up an appointment.
