Prevention

CrescentCare offers a variety of prevention services, including free rapid HIV syphilis an Hepatitis C testing take-home HIV tests, and testing at partner sites.

Additional services include PrEP (Pre Exposure Prophylaxes) Navigation, which is help with information about PrEP and linage to PrEP services and free condoms at our office locations as well as convenient community sites. Services targeted to key populations are also available, such as a Wellness program for the MSM and transgender communities, which includes STD testing, help with navigation around supportive services such as job training, linkage to HCV follow up care and programs providing support either one-on-one or in groups.

CrescentCare also operates the New Orleans Syringe Access Program (NOSAP), offering clean, free syringes, information on safer injection, overdose awareness, abscess care, fentanyl and xylazine test strips and referral to services

CrescentCare does extensive community education, hosts special outreach events, and conducts social media campaigns for HIV and STD awareness, education, and prevention.
