Abiola Akamo Aghakasiri, DNP, FNP-BC
Abiola Akamo Aghakasiri, DNP, FNP-BC is a family nurse practitioner with CrescentCare. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Originally from the Metro Atlanta area, she has called New Orleans home since 2022. She is doctorally prepared, completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice with a family nurse practitioner focus in 2022 at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Her training emphasized evidence-based preventative care through the patient-centered medical home model and a commitment to quality improvement. She graduated cum laude from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015.
Her clinical background includes experience as a registered nurse across cardiology, medical-surgical, postoperative recovery, and urgent care settings, including service as a frontline healthcare worker in New York City at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Today, she provides primary care to adults, managing conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and weight management, alongside women’s health services including contraceptive access, sexual health, perimenopausal care, and cancer screenings. Her approach centers on healthy lifestyle habits and preventative care, with the goal of helping patients avoid hospitalization and build lasting health. She’s drawn to primary care for the opportunity to build ongoing relationships with patients as they work toward their health goals together, and she values CrescentCare’s mission-driven, community-partnered approach to addressing barriers to good health. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with family, live music during festival season, and tending to her backyard garden.
