Seth Cohen, PSS

Seth Cohen is a Peer Support Specialist at CrescentCare who earned his bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University and became a certified peer support specialist in 2022. He has been serving the CrescentCare community since August 2023, working with adult clients who face substance use and mental health challenges.

As someone with over twenty years of lived experience in recovery, Seth brings a unique perspective to his role. He is passionate about sharing his story to help others find hope on their own path to recovery. Seth’s approach is centered on meeting clients wherever they are in their recovery process, offering support, strength, and hope without judgment.

Seth works as a peer navigator for CrescentCare’s RecoveryWorks program, helping clients access treatment and connect with recovery resources throughout the community. He provides peer support through the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), offers one-on-one peer support sessions, and helps facilitate the weekly Peer Support Social Hour, a welcoming space for any CrescentCare client looking to socialize in a fun and supportive environment.

Patients can expect a friendly, low-pressure, non-judgmental interaction when working with Seth, where he focuses on getting to know them and offering genuine care and understanding. He is motivated by CrescentCare’s team spirit and values the opportunity to work alongside diverse providers to best support clients.

Seth is a member of the Louisiana Peer Action Advocacy Coalition (LaPAAC), demonstrating his commitment to peer advocacy beyond his direct service work. Self-care is very important to him, and he maintains his own well-being through reading, writing, watching movies, listening to music, meditation, exercise, and spending time in nature.
