Dereck Alexander is a multifaceted radiant gem from New Orleans, Louisiana. He currently works as a Prevention Specialist for Project Impact and Recruitment Coordinator for the +Love Program at CrescentCare. He studied public health with a concentration in Community Health and minored in Biology and Social Work from the illustrious Dillard University. Dereck first tapped into the water of social justice when he attended the Human Rights Campaign HBCU Leadership and Career Summit. The summit was an eye-opening experience that led to a future choice and commitment to working in areas of social justice like HIV and equity in care for all. Dereck completed his internship with Tulane’s Connect to Protect Program and Diabetes Management Program at Daughters of Charity. Dereck is a Greater than AIDS Ambassador, which featured him in the national PREP campaign. Dereck enjoys being a voice for those who are silenced and an inspiration for those who aspire to be the best version of themselves.
