Eva Pesta, LCSW
Eva is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker originally from Pennsylvania who moved to New Orleans in 2006. She received her bachelor’s degree from Loyola University New Orleans and her MSW from the University of Texas. She utilizes many interventions including EMDR, CBT, ERP, and solution-focused therapy.
Eva’s clinical practice includes treating substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD. She has worked in the only Level 1 Trauma Center in Southern Louisiana with survivors of violent crimes. Eva is the recipient of the Richard Pruss Scholarship for accomplishments in and dedication to treating those with substance use disorders. Additionally, Eva is an OCD Specialist trained through the International OCD Foundation and volunteers for the OCD Louisiana Board. She also, serves on The Protection & Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Advisory Council which supports Disability Rights Louisiana. Her published research includes social workers’ roles and perspectives in supporting the sexual and relational health of children with disabilities.
She believes in the importance of tailoring treatment to patients’ unique needs while incorporating their existing strengths. When she’s not working, Eva enjoys walking her dog throughout New Orleans, gardening native plants, and attempting home renovations.
