CrescentCare stands firm in support of LGBTQ+ rights and gender-affirming care in the wake of discriminatory legislation  

New Orleans, LA – CrescentCare, a leading healthcare provider in the Gulf South, affirms its commitment to providing gender-affirming care to our patients, and standing in solidarity with LGBTQ+ communities in the wake of harmful legislative attacks. 

We are deeply concerned about the recent legislative efforts aimed at restricting access to gender-affirming care. These bills threaten the health and well-being of transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, and deny them, their medical providers, and their families the right to make informed decisions about their own healthcare. HB463 would prohibit medical professionals from providing transition-related services to minors, prohibit the use of public funds allocated to any entity/organization that provides gender transition-related services, and threaten the licensing of providers who provide gender-affirming care to minors.

Our laws are meant to protect us, not attack and divide us.”

Further, these services are considered safe, effective, well-researched, and are widely supported by all leading medical associations and societies.
